General information about the ZCBJ Hall

The Historic ZCBJ Hall sits on the banks of Thomas Creek in Scio, Oregon. A spacious structure - 50 by 100 feet - built in 1922. The initials Z.C.B.J. is Zapandi Czechoslovakia Brakaska Jednota, or Western Czechoslovakian Fraternal Association.

The Czechoslovakian community moved to the Scio area in the late 1890's. The hall was constructed to house the man community events including Lodge meetings. Those Lodge meetings are still being held regularly in the hall, as well as a variety of other community and private events.

The hall features a beautiful maple dance floor, stage, and kitchen facilities.

In 1993 the hall was deeded to the Linn County Lamb and Wool Fair association by the members of the ZCBJ Lodge.

It is our goal to continue maintenance and improvements to restore and preserve its historic significance.
